Days: Monday – Friday
Office Hours: 09:00 – 17:30
Salary: £26,000.00 – £65,000 (depending on experience)
Reports to: Head of Conveyancing
Acts on behalf of and gives legal advice to private and commercial clients under the supervision of the Head of Conveyancing. Progressing files by performing a variety of duties, including drafting legal correspondence, answering phones and greeting visitors and communicating with solicitors, clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with clients
- Attend conferences with clients.
- Carry out file reviews and Risk Assessments.
- Efficiently and proactively communicate with clients, buyer and seller Solicitors, Estate Agents, Financial Advisors and HM Land Registry.
- Progress transactions promptly.
- Adhere to deadlines.

- Law Degree
Experience
- Previous experience in a fast-paced office environment.
Qualities and Attitudes
- Communication skills: You will be working with a wide range of people, from barristers and solicitors to their clients, so the ability to communicate well and in a professional manner is essential.
- Written communication skills: excellent spelling and grammar. A high level of written English.
- Attention to detail: high level of accuracy when preparing legal documents or filling out forms and statements.
- Teamwork: able to work with clients, lawyers, and other legal secretaries.
- Strong sense of discretion.
- Courteous and professional demeanour.
- Demonstrate that they can cope well under pressure.
- Ability to work towards a monthly target.
Knowledge
- MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, Dictaphone etc)
- Legal terminology, regulations and court system, although full training will be given
